Mrs. Jessie R. Morrison was born on September 25, 1942 in Elberton, GA to the late Rivers Harper and Ethel Fortson Harper. She departed this earthly life on July 23, 2022 at Anmed Medical Center in Anderson, SC. She was preceded in death by her husband, R.L. Morrison; daughter, Ethel Faye Morrison; and sisters, Carrie Lee Bush, Mary Harper, Cora Bowers, and Jane Stowers.
Mrs. Morrison confessed her love for Christ at an early age and became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Bowman, GA. She attended the Franklin County School System. Furthermore, she worked cleaning houses and did office cleaning until her health failed. She was married to R.L. Morrison and to this union five children were born.
She leaves to cherish fond memories to her sons, Robert (Tawanna Fortson) Morrison of Hartwell, GA, Gerald (Georgette) Morrison of Stone Mountain, GA, and Paul (Laretha) Morrison of Bowersville, GA; daughter, Jessie Lee Morrison of Bowersville, GA; brother, Jimmy Harper of Baltimore, MD; sisters- in- law, Linda Teasley, Lois Turman, Geneva Banks, Imogene Merritt, Bobby (Clate) Cleveland, and Frances Morrison; grandchildren, James McGlockling, Paul Morrison Jr., Jessica McGlockling, Nathaniel McGlockling, Talaya Morrison, Noel Harper, Teven Morrison, and Valoria McGlockling; seven great grandchildren; one special adopted great granddaughter, Toni Shackelford; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held Saturday July 30, 2022 at 1pm at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Bowman. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Viewing will be Friday July 29, 2022 from 2pm-6pm. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
