Barbara Joann Gormon Richard

Barbara Joann Gormon Richard, age 83, of Cornelia, passed away on Tuesday, July 26, 2022. 

Born on July 29, 1938 in New Castle, Indiana, she was a daughter of the late James L. Gormon and Johanna Smith of Indiana. Mrs. Richard was a homemaker who enjoyed playing bingo. She was a member of the Sertoma Club and of the Trailblazers Four Wheel Drive Club. She was of the Christian faith. 

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Elie Richard, Jr., and sister, Donna Jean Chausse. 

Survivors include son, Curtis Elie Richard of Toccoa; daughters and son-in-law, Janette Renee Cowart (Jonathan Brad) of Clarkesville, and Donna Jean Richard of Franklin, North Carolina; grandchildren: Curtis E. Richard, Jr., Alexis C. Taylor, Mackenzie J. Richard, Brittany R. Richard, Ashley Hopper, James O. Ramey, Jr., Gabriel Vermillion, Victoria J. Turpin, Jasper E. Richard-Turpin, and Isabelle R. Richard-Turpin; and great-grandchildren, Jason Taylor and Elijah Z. Willoughby.  

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
