Robert Alan Richmond, Jr., age 79, of Alto, passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022.
Born on June 30, 1943, in Miami, Florida, he was the son of the late Robert Alan Richmond, Sr. and Marjorie Virginia Sweeting. Mr. Richmond was a retired Civil Engineer who enjoyed traveling and flying, at the age of 16 he flew solo for the first time. In his spare time he enjoyed working in the yard and gardening. He was a member of Airline Baptist Church and was very involved in church activities and his Sunday School Class.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Vaughn Richmond; and son, Michael Leslie Richmond; and brother, Bill Richmond.
Survivors include his wife, Patricia Sullens-Richmond of Alto; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Richmond III (Julissa); daughters and sons-in-law, Elizabeth Wallace (Scott), Rebecca Porter (Brandon); step-sons and daughters-in-law, Chris Sullens (Jessica), Kevin Sullens (Tiffany); grandchildren, Robert Alan IV, Jordan Grace, Joanna Areli, Evan Michael, Isabel Christina, Sadie Elizabeth, Korin Fay, Logan Marie, Camden Scott, Samuel Vaughn, Nicholas Vincent, Luke Maxwell, and Thomas Vaughn; sisters, Carole Gibbs, April Richmond, and Linda Richmond-Moran.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 3 pm on Thursday, August 4, 2022, at Airline Baptist Church in Gainesville, Georgia with Pastor Mike Dorough officiating.
