Betty Lorene Minton, age 90, of Dacula, GA, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2022. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, James H. Minton; parents, Leonard and Ozella Harbins Frachiseur. Mrs. Minton is survived by her children, James David Minton of El Paso, TX, Jeffrey Edward Minton of Sandy Springs, GA, Jane Ashley of Dacula, GA, Gregory Scott Minton of Atlanta, GA, Ginger Ann Minton of Dacula, GA; 14 grandchildren, Andrew (Amy) Minton, Sarah (Greg) Serwatka, Jamie (Joe) Smith, Matthew Minton, Tyler James Minton, Samuel Robert Minton, Joshua Jeffrey Minton, Stephen Minton, Benjamin Ashley, Alexander Ashley (Ashley Michelle); 8 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Mrs. Minton was born on October 6, 1931 in Lawrenceville, GA. She attended Central Gwinnett High School and retired as a childcare worker from First Baptist Church of Decatur. Mrs. Minton also worked in childcare at Oak Grove United Methodist church. She was a member or Rock Springs UMC, Lawrenceville, GA where she started their childcare program. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA with Rev. Eduardo Stevens Gonzales and Rev. Brad Butler officiating. Interment will follow at the Rock Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, July 29, 2022 at Flanigan Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rock Springs UMC in memory of Betty Minton.
