Glenn Junior Pitts

Mr. Glenn Junior Pitts, age 72 of Toccoa, Georgia passed away Thursday, July 21, 2022 while under hospice care at the home of his daughter in Lavonia, Georgia with family and loved ones at his side.

He was the son of the late Junior Winfred Pitts and Nellie Moore Pitts Sumpter. He was born February 1, 1950 in Stephens County, Georgia where he had lived most of his life. He was employed with Robertson Furniture Company for a number of years before his retirement.  He was a Christian and of the Baptist faith. He loved his family, enjoyed fishing, joking and having a good laugh with everyone that he knew and met. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Norris Pitts, sister Kathy Maye and brothers Johnny Pitts and Roy Sumpter.

Survivors include his children, Mark Pitts of Eastanollee, Tina Duncan of Lavonia, Wendy Harris of Eastanollee, Melissa Turpin (Michael Roach) of Martin, Tabitha Van Slyke of Alaska, Angie King (Peter) of Toccoa, Jane Pace of Toccoa, Harold Roach (Amanda) of Eastanollee and Perry Pace (Kristy) of Demorest;  grandchildren, Jason Duncan, Ashley Duncan, Kensey Turpin (Allysa) and Madison Harris; brothers, Steve Sumpter of Toccoa, Tony (Cheryl) Sumpter of Turnerville and Terry Sumpter of Demorest; sisters, Faye Miller and Ann York both of Toccoa, and Linda Frady of Clarkesville; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be Saturday, August 6, 2022, 2 o’clock p.m. at Safe Harbor Church of God with The Reverend Robert Lawson officiating.
