Henry Leroy Scarborough

Mr. Henry Leroy Scarborough, 85, of Gainesville passed away Friday, July 22, 2022 at his residence following an extended illness surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 4:30 p.m. Sunday, July 24, 2022 in the Chapel of Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Robert Nix officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Memorial Park Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until 4:30 p.m.

Born on November 30, 1936 in Greenville, SC, he was the son of the late Elmer Allan and Geneva Massey Scarborough. Mr. Scarborough was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was retired from Lucent Technologies and a member of East Hall Baptist Church.

Mr. Scarborough is survived by his wife of 59 years, Ruth Marie Woodring Scarborough of Gainesville; son and daughter in law, Tony Allan and Melody Scarborough of Gainesville; son, Terry Paul Scarborough of Gainesville; grandsons, Dustin Dockery, Trey Scarborough, Jacob Scarborough, Seth Scarborough; 5 great grandchildren; sister and brother in law, Loretta and Rick Tucker of Madison County, GA; brothers and sister in law, Ralph and Joyce Woodring of Dahlonega, Roy Woodring of Gainesville and a number of nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
