Melba Whitlow Helton

Melba Whitlow Helton, 74, of Hoschton, GA passed away Friday, July 22, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cliff and Minnie Gaddis Whitlow; and two great grandchildren, Christopher Levi White and Charli-Ree Layne White. Mrs. Helton is survived by her husband of 33 years, Michael A. Helton of Hoschton, GA; children, Danny M. Mote, Jr. of Hoschton, GA; Darrell Mote of Dacula, GA; and Scott Allen (Jamie) Helton of Commerce, GA; four grandchildren, Blake and Nicole Mote, Angie and Kenneth White, Kayla and Casey Cantrell, and Bethany and Kevin Wilbanks; eight great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Mary Helton Maxwell of Flowery Branch, GA. Numerous cousins and other relatives also survive. Mrs. Helton was born August 1, 1947 in Gainesville, GA (Forsyth County) and received her education at County Line School System. She retired from Gwinnett County Public Schools in the custodial department, working at Creekland Middle School for 19 years. She was a member of Mulberry Baptist Church in Hoschton, GA. Funeral Services are scheduled for 2:00 PM Sunday, July 24, 2022 at Mulberry Baptist Church in Hoschton, GA with Rev. Doug Swafford and Rev. Scott Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at Flanigan Funeral Home from 4:30 PM until 8:30 PM on Saturday, July 23, 2022; and again from 9:00 AM until 1:30 PM on Sunday, July 24, 2022.
