Mr. Paul Alexander Moricz, age 77 of Mitchell Street, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center.
A son of the late Alex and Irma Kipinyecz Moricz, he was born May 16, 1945 in Cleveland, Ohio having lived most of his life in Stephens County, Georgia. He was a certified brick mason. He retired from the Toccoa Police Department with 20+ years of service. During his time with the Toccoa Police Department, he was awarded the Officer of the Year for 1992, 1993 and 2000 and was in charge of the accreditation for the Toccoa Police Department. He was later employed with the Stephens County Sheriff’s Department for five years. He attended First United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister and brother-in-law, Irene and Edward Kaczmarek.
Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Jane Holbrook Moricz of the home; sister-in-law, Sandra Holbrook Childs of Toccoa; nieces, Sue (Brian) Lieb of Strongsville, Ohio and Karen (John) Sturm of N. Royalton, Ohio; nephew, Ed (Jeanne) Kaczmarek of Fountain Inn, South Carolina; nieces, Andrea (Flay) Dalrymple and their family of Martin, Angela (Max) Brock and their family of Toccoa and Donna (Matt) Eddy and their family of Clarkesville; numerous other relatives.
Funeral services will be Friday, July 22, 2022, 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Brent White, Dr. Butch Newkirk and Mr. Andrew Pavliscsak officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Flay Dalrymple, Alec Dalrymple, Cooper Dalrymple, Brian Lieb, Andrew Pavliscsak, Butch Newkirk and Cary Long.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. until time for the service at 2 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Entombment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Mausoleum with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Paul Alexander Moricz.
