Betty Carolyn Wheeler Durden

Mrs. Betty Carolyn Wheeler Durden, age  76 of Davis Avenue, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at her residence.

A daughter of the late Thomas and Margie Nations Wheeler, she was born December 10, 1945 in Rock Hill, South Carolina having lived most of her life in White County and Stephens County, Georgia.  She was employed with Northeast Georgia Medical Center as an LPN and later retired from Lee Arrendale State Prison as an LPN.  She was of the Baptist faith. She loved working in her flowers.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Durden, son, Staci Tench, brothers, Roy, Elmer, Eugene and Tommy Wheeler and by a sister, Shirley Wheeler.

Survivors include a son, Ricky Armour of Gainesville, Georgia; brother, Larry Joe Wheeler of Cleveland, Georgia; sister, Brenda Payne of Cleveland, Georgia; a number of nieces and nephews; good friend, Harold Hemrick.

Private memorial service will be held at a later date.
