Sarah Elizabeth Hunter Gailey

Mrs. Sarah Elizabeth Hunter Gailey, age 72 of Commerce passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at her residence.  Mrs. Gailey was born in Atlanta to the late, Oliver Alonzo Hunter, Sr. and Evelyn Jeannette Carter Hunter.  Mrs. Gailey was a member of Maysville Baptist Church and was a retired school teacher from Jackson County School System.  In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gailey was also preceded in death by her husband, Charles Laverne Gailey and brother, Lonnie Hunter, II.

Mrs. Gailey is survived by her daughters, Michele Svoboda of Statham and Angela Gailey of Commerce; three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Thursday, July 21st at 3 PM from the Refuge at Maysville Baptist Church with Rev. Lonnie Hunter, III officiating with the interment following at Jackson Memorial Park.  The family will receive friends at the Refuge on Thursday from 2-3 PM.
