Ladell Reynolds, 91, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away on July 17, 2022. Ladell was born on October 24, 1930, in Cleveland, GA to Celia Matilda Smith Dalton and Alonzo Columbus "Lonzo" Dalton. Mrs. Reynolds was the 11th of 12 children and the lone survivor of her siblings. Ladell spent her early career in the textile industry. She retired with 30 years of service to Winn Dixie in Gainesville. Her time in the Winn Dixie Deli provided her with great friends and satisfaction in providing world class service and friendship to her regular customers, many of whom affectionately called her the "Winn Dixie Lady."
She was the faithful wife to her husband of 60 years, Herbert Reynolds. She was the mother of Bernard Reynolds, the son she had waited 21 years for. In 2002 she became the cherished grandmother of Carter Dalton Reynolds. In 2004, her angel of a granddaughter, Morgan Elizabeth Reynolds, entered the world. She experienced great and incomprehensible sadness with Morgan's passing in 2006. She gained the daughter she had always wanted in 2009 when Bernard married Ellen Williams Reynolds. She was quickly put on a higher pedestal than Bernard. Her family was the most important thing for her.
Ladell is survived by her son, Bernard H. Reynolds, her beloved daughter-in-law, Ellen Williams Reynolds, and her grandson, Carter Dalton Reynolds who was the light of her life along with many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will host a lunch and visitation at the Memorial Park Funeral Home's main campus, 2030 Memorial Park Drive, on July 20, 2022, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 pm. Please bring your favorite Ladell stories. The celebration of life will begin at 1 p.m. in the chapel.
