Betty Watkins Carter

Mrs. Betty Watkins Carter, age 76, of Gainesville, Georgia passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents W.T. and Nellie Reed Watkins and brother Lendy Watkins.

Betty is survived by her loving husband of 46 years, John Andrew Carter.  She was a lifetime resident of Hall County. She was a member of First Baptist Church.  Her lifelong desire was to live as a Christian, and to study and faithfully follow God’s word.  In this world her greatest love was for her family and her devoted husband, John Carter. 

Betty is survived by her son, Chris and Jamie Forrester, step-children: John and Allison Carter of Raeford, NC , Gary and Nancy Carter of Cumming, GA, Cheryl and John Satterfield of Gainesville, GA, Jodie and Ron Lewallen of Maysville, GA, Susan Carter of Alpharetta, GA,  Scott and Joni Carter of Sylva, NC and  grandchildren: Christin and Robbie McLean, Carlie and Josh Jones, Chase and Amy Forrester, Emma Forrester, Nathanael and Angie Carter, David Carter, Stephanie Carter, Johanna Carter, Blake and Jana Carter, Crystal and Joe Penland, Chris Satterfield, Camille and Justin Hooper, Justin and Alicia Lewallen, Bridgett and Matt Crumley, Louis and Christin Miller, John Luke Carter, Micah and Devan Carter, Zechariah and Meredith Carter, Anna Beth Carter, and many great Grandchildren. Betty is also survived by her siblings, Andy and Linda Watkins, Shirley Palmer, and Daisy Gibson and Sister-in-law, Carolyn Watkins.

Memorial services will be held Tuesday July 26, 2022 at 7:00 p.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until the funeral hour.

Donations may be made in remembrance of Mrs. Betty Carter to the Ministry of Caring at First Baptist Church, 751 Green Street, Gainesville, GA 30501.
