Chris William Wang, age 61, passed away July 14, 2022. Chris was born at Piedmont Hospital in Atlanta on August 19, 1960, to William and Sara Wang, who preceded him in death.
Chris graduated from Clarkston High School in 1978 where he lettered in track. He graduated from Georgia State with a degree in business administration and worked for Georgia United Credit Union for more than 30 years before transitioning to Associated Credit Union in 2016.
An avid Georgia sports fan and a DGD, Chris loved going to Athens for game day or attending a Braves game with one of his boys. And despite this, he would drop anything to go fishing with Chase or see either of his sons - Garrett or Chase - play soccer or lacrosse. However, it was a highlight for him to see the Braves win the World Series and Georgia’s football team win the National Championship within months of each other in the last year.
Chris is survived by his wife of 32 years, Polly; sons Garrett (Brittany) and Chase; granddaughter Willa; sister Lisa; brother Scott (Elisabeth); sisters-in-law Tina (Steve) Weeks and Laura (Tommy) Watson; brother-in-law Britt (Gretchen) Lavender; and numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, July 19, 2022 at Memorial Park Funeral Home in Braselton. The family will receive visitors beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a service at 11:30 a.m. Rev. Lance Cole will be officiating and Mr. Marion English will be the musician. A private graveside service will follow at Memorial Park South Cemetery.
