Malcolm Derrick Garland

Mr. Malcolm Derrick Garland, age 57 of Toccoa passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2022 at the Northeast Georgia Medical Center. 

A son of Patricia Verner Garland and the late Dewey Grant Garland, he was born February 15, 1965 in Stephens County, Georgia where he lived most of his life.  He was a 1983 graduate of Stephens County High School and later attended the University of Georgia.  He was employed with Qwiksite Construction in Gainesville, Georgia as a Construction Manager.  He was of the Baptist faith and had attended Ebenezer Baptist Church.  He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Grant Garland in 1994.

Survivors include his mother, Patricia Verner Garland of Toccoa; son and daughter-in-law, Jake and Stephanie Garland of Toccoa; grandson, Sincere Julian Garland of Toccoa; two brothers and sister-in-law, Kevin and Kecia Garland of Gainesville and Heath Garland of Toccoa; nieces, Taylor and Presley Garland of Gainesville.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.
