Anna Elizabeth Frere

Obituary Date: Saturday, July 2, 2022

Anna Elizabeth Frere, 29, loving daughter of Jim and Leigh Frere, died Saturday July 2, 2022.  Elizabeth was born on April 9, 1993 in Atlanta and raised in Lawrenceville and Sugar Hill through her elementary and high school years.  Elizabeth enjoyed soccer and swimming through her early years.  Elizabeth graduated from North Gwinnett High School in 2011 and was active in varsity swimming.  Elizabeth graduated from North Georgia University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts in Secondary Education and was certified to teach Middle and High School Math and History.

Elizabeth began her teaching career in 2018 at Liberty Middle School in Forsyth County where she taught both 8th grade math (Algebra) and U.S. History.  She especially enjoyed teaching students, where she encouraged them to excel and succeed.  She was the Middle School swimming coach and an assistant Swim coach at North Forsyth High School.  She was also the Cheerleader sponsor.  Elizabeth furthered her teaching career by graduating in 2019 with a Masters in Math Education from Piedmont College in north Georgia.   Elizabeth took a big step in her teaching career and started teaching 9th grade Algebra at East Forsyth High School in the school’s inaugural year of 2021.  She was the assistant Swim Coach at East Forsyth High School and Cheerlead sponsor, and enjoyed teaching and encouraging all her swimmers and cheerleaders. This summer she tutored students at Omega Learning Center in Cumming.

Elizabeth enjoyed being with her family, friends, and teaching colleagues.  She loved her Blue Healer dog Nola, and they were inseparable.  She had many friends from the dog park where she enjoyed socializing and letting Nola run to her hearts content. Elizabeth was loved by so many and if you were her friend, you knew she would drop everything and be there for you, no matter what. She cherished her family and friends with all her heart.  

Elizabeth is survived by her parents, Leigh and Jim, her brother Michael; Aunts and Uncles, Kathy Swank, (Mike)-Greenville, SC, Jane Brannan (Dave)-Kennesaw, GA, Randy West-Athens, GA, Bill Frere (Kelly)-Houston, TX and many cousins throughout the US.  She is proceeded in death by her grandparents, Bob and Ann Donaldson -Greenville, SC, Maurice and Margaret Frere- Athens, GA, Aunt Ann Frere West-Athens, GA, and Aunt Donna Frere-Berwyn Heights, MD.

Visitation and a funeral mass will be held on Thursday, July 7, 2022.  Visitation will start at 12:00 pm at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, at 6439 Spouts Spring Road, Flowery Branch, GA for the family and friends.  A grave-side service at Broadlawn Memorial Park in Buford, GA will follow the mass.
