Gerald F. “Jerry” Wall passed away suddenly on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at his residence in Jefferson, GA. He was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 1, 1951.
Though he spent most of his life living in Georgia, his heart was always in his hometown of Philadelphia.
He was preceded in death by his parents Gerald Francis Wall, Sr. and Edith Mary Wall.
He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years Deborah S. Wall of Jefferson, Georgia.
He was the loving father of three children: Gerald F. Wall and wife Chau, Russell P. Wall, and Laura Wall Harris and husband Jason.
He will lovingly be remembered by his sisters and brother: Kathy Gray, Helen Lawson, Thomas Wall, and Christine Wall.
He was a loving grandfather to seven grandchildren: Taylor and LJ Wall, Charles and Sarah Wall, and Brady, Parker and Riley Jean Harris.
He also loved his numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Jerry and Debbie met 50 years ago at DeKalb Junior College. They could be seen racing around in his burgundy fastback Ford Mustang. They married in 1973. Jerry made a career in route sales and eventually became an independent owner with Entenmann's Fresh Baked Goods until retirement.
Jerry was known for his quick wit, a clever turn of phrase, and knowledge of all things relating to trivia.
He loved classic rock & roll. He passionately supported his favorite Philadelphia sports teams. His favorite foods were Italian cuisine of all varieties. He took great pride in his Northern upbringing and his Catholic faith. He loved talking politics with all who listened because he loved his country and cared for its future. He was a friend to all he met and a pain to all those he loved and those who loved him most!
Gerald F Wall was known as Big Jerry, Pawpaw and occasionally "Frank from Snellville" when he called his favorite talk radio shows.
He worked hard, he loved big, and he made a memorable impact with all those he encountered.
