Robert Earl Segars

Robert Earl Segars, 69, of Buford, Georgia, died on June 28, 2022. Mr. Segars was born on June 26, 1953, in Cartersville. He was baptized at Oakland Heights Baptist Church. Mr. Segars was a graduate of Cass High School and served as a U.S Marine Corps reservist from 1971-76. He was a longtime employee of Western Electric, AT&T, Lucent Technologies, and OFS, from which he retired in 2004. He was the first president of the Ivy Green neighborhood homeowners’ association and served for two terms. Mr. Segars was an avid fisherman and loved cooking and baking, photography, building LEGOs, listening to a wide variety of music, and spending time with his family. 

Mr. Segars was preceded in death by his parents, William Earl Segars and Sydney Kennedy Segars; his brother, William Stephen Segars; and his nephew Blaine Bennett. He is survived by his beloved wife of 36 years, Pamela Tinius Segars; by his children, Michael Robert Segars (Jessica) of Oakwood; Michele Segars McAllister, of Cumming; Lauren Bush Petron (David) of Alexandria, Virginia; and Natalie Diane Pannell (Jason) of Milton; by his grandchildren, Joston Segars, Cierra Segars, Nathanael Petron, Polly Pannell, and Claire Pannell; by his sisters, Mary Anne Benefield (Bill), of Acworth, Georgia, and Jane Bennett (David) of Adairsville, Georgia; by his sister-in-law, Josie Segars; and by several cousins, nieces, nephews, and their families.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 1, from 1:00 to 3:00pm at Hamilton Mill Memorial Chapel and Gardens in Buford, with funeral services immediately following the visitation at 3:00pm.
