Jack J. Davis, age 92, of Cleveland, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022.
Mr. Davis was born on June 4, 1930, in Upson County, Georgia, to the late John and Sindia Davis. He was a poultry grower and a member of Antioch Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon. Jack drove a school bus for over 24 years and was also employed by Talon for several years. He enjoyed the time he spent performing with his wife and late daughter in The Davis Trio. Jack was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean Conflict. In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Davis; brothers, Herman Davis, Robert Davis, Joe Davis, and J.W. Davis; sisters, Florence Carter, Eunice Edge, Lena Hicks, and Nora Barrett.
Survivors include his wife of 68 ½ years, Audrey Davis; daughter and son-in-law, Renee and Randall Lewis; sons and daughters-in-law, Bryan and Karen Davis, Michael and Susan Davis; grandchildren, Jordan and Marissa Davis, Emily and Matt Green, Brooke and Adam Kennedy, William and Courtney Lewis, Austin Davis, and Daniel Lewis; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Kennedy and Karsyn Kennedy, Harley Green, Major Lewis, and Tony Lewis; sister-in-law, Polly Davis; several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 2, 2022, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home. The Rev. Phillip Robinson, the Rev. Matt Pruitt, and the Rev. Ronnie Dockery will officiate. Interment will follow in Antioch Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 – 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
