Mrs. Betty Frances Howard Mize, age 89 of Skyline Drive, Toccoa passed away Tuesday June 21, 2022 at Stephens County Hospital.
Born August 16, 1932 in Stephens County, Georgia; she was the daughter of the late James Howard and Sarah Burton Taylor. She was preceded in death by sisters and brothers-in-law Sybil Howard, Runelle and Bobby Childs and Helen and Melvin Payne.
She was of the Holiness faith and a member of the Church of God.
She served as a military wife having lived in many places, she lived most of her life in Stephens County and was retired from Armstrong.
Survivors include her husband of 73 year Arvil Mize of the home, daughters and sons-in-law Pat and Buren Crunkleton, Teresa and Jerry Kelley, Cookie Sheppard, son and daughter-in-law Dwain and Gail Mize, grandchildren Angie and Vance McGee, Jennifer McCollum, Michael and Brandi Mize, Neal and Kristen Sheppard, Matt and Jamie Mize, great-grandchildren Allyson McCollum, Dejanea McGee, Rachel McCollum, Ryan McCollum, Austin Mize, Cole Mize, Reagan Mize, Brady Sheppard, Bryson Whiten, brother and sister-in-law Jimmy and Evelyn Howard and brother-in-law Robert Mize and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral services will be held Friday June 24, 2022 at 3 P.M. at the Hillcrest Chapel of Acree-Davis Funeral Home with the Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Friday from 1 P.M. til service time.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers Roger Sheppard, Neal Sheppard, Brady Sheppard, Ryan McCollum, Michael Mize, Austin Mize and Cole Mize.
Interment will follow in Zebulon Baptist Church Cemetery
