James "Jim" William MacMaster

Obituary Date: Tuesday, June 14, 2022

James (Jim) William MacMaster age 75, of Maysville passed away Tuesday June 14, 2022.

Jim was born on December 10, 1946, to the late Robert and Phyllis MacMaster of Townsend, MA. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Robert and sister-in-law Marcia MacMaster. Jim was the former Executive VP/COO for Yokohama Tire Corporation, the Rubber Manufacturers Assn.’s chairman from 2007-2009, a Veteran of the United States Navy, a life member of the Freemasons, and served on the Board of Directors at Lehigh Technologies. 

Throughout his career, he made it his mission to mentor and develop those around him.  Jim is remembered by his fellow employees as always having a smile on his face and willing to lend a helping hand to those in need. 

Upon his retirement, Jim and Teri left California and moved back to Georgia to be closer to their children and grandchildren. They enjoyed travelling the US in their RV and spending time with family and friends.  Jim’s kind soul gave him the ability to make friends wherever he went. Proud Scotsman and American Patriot.  The Patriarch of the MacMaster family which he loved with his entire heart.             

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Teri MacMaster, Maysville; Son, and daughter and-in-law, Tim and Pam MacMaster, Cleveland, GA; daughter and son-in-law, Mia and Adam Faulkner, Lula, GA; granddaughter Jordan [and Cameron] Callahan of Arlington, TX; grandson Tyler MacMaster of Cleveland, GA, and great granddaughters Scout and Andi Callahan. 

Memorial Services are scheduled for 4:00 PM Sunday, June 19, 2022, at Little-Davenport Funeral Home, Gainesville, GA.  The family will receive friends from 3-4 PM prior to the service. The Rev. Shon Peppers of First Presbyterian Church of Gainesville will officiate. 

In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Salvation Army.  Jim and his parents were believers of the Salvation Army and its mission to preach the gospel of Jesus, meeting needs in his name without discrimination. salvationarmy

In addition, Jim was a strong advocate of the Tunnel to Towers foundation and their commitment to aiding veterans and first responders. tunnIels2towers
