Joseph "Joe" L. Moss Sr.

Joseph (Joe) L. Moss Sr., 77, of Clayton went home to be with his Lord June 16, 2022.

Joe was the son of the late F.E. and Sally Moss.  He grew up in Valdosta, Ga.  He attended college but left his senior year to enlist in the Navy and serve in the Vietnam War.

He married his love, Debbie, and together they entered into a life of ministry.  After earning a Master's degree in Religious Education at Southwestern, they served in Martinez, Ga, Togo, West Africa and finished their ministry at Camp Pinnacle.

Although retired, he continued to minister and share Jesus with all those he came into contact with.  He found great joy in teaching a men's Sunday school class at Clayton Baptist Church.  He loved to travel and he loved his family- he loved nothing more than traveling with his family.  He led his family faithfully and in a Godly manner.

He is preceded in death by his parents, F.E. and Sally Moss and his sister-in-law, Pat Moss.  He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Debbie, his daughter, Elizabeth (Randy) Adams, son, Jay Moss, grandchildren Alex Adams, Talan Adams, Jennifer Westlake and family, Heather Adams, brother Frank Moss and niece Patricia (Kirk) Leciacsek.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 18, 2022 at 5:00 pm at the Clayton Baptist Church in Clayton, with Rev. Joey Thompson officiating.
