Clair Nelson Staples

Evans Funeral Home announces the death of Mr. Clair Nelson Staples, age 91 of Maysville, Georgia who entered rest Sunday, June 12, 2022.  Mr. Staples was born in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Jerome Burnhard Staples and the late Elsie Helms Staples.  Mr. Staples retired from General Electric as a Shop Foreman and attended both Maysville Baptist Church and The Grove. Mr. Staples retired after twenty-one years with the United States Air Force.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Staples was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Ruth Patchen Staples and a son, Clair Michael Staples.

Survivors include his two sons, Tom Wayne (Sandy) Staples of Bushkill, PA and David Eugene Staples (Kimberly) of Maysville, GA. Five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, June 16, 2022, at the Chantry at The Grove with Pastor Jeff Appling officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at 1:30 P.M. at Georgia National Cemetery, 1080 Scott Hudgens Drive, Canton, Georgia 30114. The family will receive friends Thursday, June 16, 2022, from 9:00 A.M. until time of service at 10:00 A.M. at the Chantry at The Grove.
