Sue Fowler Sneed

Obituary Date: Sunday, June 12, 2022
Sue Fowler Sneed, 80 of Gainesville quietly passed from this earth into the presence of the Lord and was reunited with all of those loved ones going before who had died in Christ on June 12, 2022.
 
Sue was born February 26, 1942 in Hall County.  She was a graduate from Gainesville High School in 1960.  Received a bachelor degree in Home Economics Education from the University of Georgia and a masters degree in Middle School from Brenau University.  She was an active member of Gainesville First Baptist Church for 30 years serving as GA's Director and WMU Director, later becoming a member of Lakewood Baptist Church for over 32 years.
 
She taught Home Economics at East Hall High School, and Science and Home Economics at Gainesville Middle School.  Sue retired after 30 years of teaching with the Gainesville City School system.
 
She was a member of Phoenix Society, and President of the Girls Club.  She was active in Elks Auxiliary, holding state offices as Parilamentarian, Secretary, Vice-President and President of the Elks Auxiliary along  with a number of other committee's.
 
Sue loved playing cards, traveling and being with her friends from the Class of 1960, where she worked on every class reunion and get togethers for the class.  This always meant a lot to her.
 
Sue is survived by her husband of 32 years, Calvin Sneed, children, Derek Fowler and Amanda Moore (Jasen), grandson, Fowler Moore (Elena), great grandsons, Tripp Moore and Jett Moore, step children, Cheryl Underwood and Kim Sneed,  step grandchildren, Adison, Preston, and Brinly, sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Hartwell Mayfield. a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
 
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday June 18, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. at Lakewood Baptist Church.  Dr. Tom Smiley, Dr. Tyler Smiley and Rev. Don Ormsbee will officiate.  The family will receive friends at the church Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
 
Members of the graduating Class of 1960 of Gainesville High School have been asked to serve as honorary escorts for the service and to please assemble at the church at 2:45 p.m. on Saturday.
 
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial contributions please be made to the Georgia Elks Aidmore, 2394 Morrison Road, SW, Conyers, Georgia 30094 in memory of Sue.
