Robert Denny Ainsworth

Mr. Robert Denny Ainsworth, age 67 of Griffin Road, Martin, Georgia passed away Monday, June 6, 2022 at his residence. While the best person to write this would be Denny himself, his handsome sons will have to fill in.

A son of the late James Charles Ainsworth and Anna Thompson Ainsworth, he was born October 28, 1954 in Laurel, Mississippi. That day was arguably one of the most important days of his life. He spent his first several decades of life in the Laurel area, learning how to do a proper burnout with friends and brothers. He began his long radio broadcasting career in Mississippi. Ever the loving husband, he eventually packed up his six string and radio microphone to follow his wife and her career and to continue his own career in the Atlanta, Georgia area, where he discovered his love of metro Atlanta traffic. As Executive Producer for the FunSeekers Radio Network and the Ludlow Porch show, Denny’s voice and witty humor were heard by many listeners throughout the Southeast for over two decades. More recently, he pivoted career-wise while sticking to his love of entertainment through doing precision driving for a number of television shows and movies.

Now for the more serious part (Denny would’ve stopped reading at this point). He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, and two sisters. Survivors include his wife Patricia Moree Ainsworth; sons, Nicholas Denny Ainsworth of Martin, Georgia, Robby Ainsworth of Austin, Texas and Tony Munn (Misty) of Sumrall, Mississippi; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild; sister, Evelyn Moss (Reggie) of Hattiesburg, Mississippi; and a number of nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 11, 2022, 11 o’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Bruce McGee officiating. 

The family will be at the home on Griffin Road and will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, June 11 from 10 a.m. until the service time.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Interment will follow in the Roselane Cemetery with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mr. Robert Denny Ainsworth.
