Terri LaFaye Ryan

Obituary Date: Saturday, June 4, 2022

Terri LaFaye Tribble Ryan, of Gainesville, Ga., passed away on Saturday, June 4, 2022, at the age of 66, following a hard-fought battle with cancer.  She spent her final days surrounded by her loving family.

Terri was born on January 1, 1956, in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, to parents Jacques and Francis Tribble.

Terri was a skilled high school counselor, and she touched countless lives with her loving and unending support of others.  She adored her five grandchildren, and loved spending time with them.  She enjoyed traveling to the beach with her family, going on long, power walks in her neighborhood, and surrounding herself with flowers, birds, antiques, and vintage linens and glassware.  She often showed her love through gift-giving as well as celebrating any possible occasion, always making memories embellished with her special touch.  She loved eating out with friends, singing on cruise ships, and taking an active role in church activities.  Her example of compassion and her steadfast faith is a legacy her friends and family will both never forget, and strive to continue, in years to come.

Terri is preceded in death by her parents, Jacques Franklin Tribble and Francis Bernice Bates Tribble, and her firstborn daughter, Sara Elizabeth Ryan.  She is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Stephen H. Ryan; two daughters, Emily [Dallas] Loewen; Rebekah [Tyler] Seabolt, and sister Jacqueline [Roger] Whigham.  She is also survived by her beloved aunt, Lura Ann [Stanley] Phillips. Other survivors include five grandchildren:  Solomon, Gideon, and Eloise Loewen; Jude and Charlie Seabolt; and niece and nephew, Laura Trouve’ and Samuel Whigham.

A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Gainesville First United Methodist Church on Thursday, June 9 at 2pm in the Sanctuary with a reception in the Gathering Room following.  The service will be livestreamed for those who are unable to attend in person at gfumc.com/memorialservices.

In lieu of flowers, Terri has requested that memorial donations be given to her beloved Seekers Sunday School class at Gainesville First United Methodist Church at 2780 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA. 30506.
