Gayle (Twitty) Gill

Mrs. Gayle (Twitty) Gill, age 85, of Gainesville, Georgia, passed away peacefully, Wednesday, June 1, 2022.

Gayle was born July 19, 1936, a native of Gainesville. She was the daughter of the late Elmer Twitty and Willie B. (Forrest) Twitty. She and her husband Dr. Jerry Gill were married for 57 years. She was a charter members of Lakewood Baptist Church. Mrs. Gill earned her Master Degree from New Orleans Theology School and taught at White Sulphur Elementary for many years and was an educator for a total of 28 years.

Mrs. Gill is survived by her husband Dr. Jerry Gill of Gainesville; daughter and son-in-law, Lori and Chad Shoaf of Clermont; granddaughter and husband, Abbi and Wil Kinsey, also of Clermont; grandchildren, Michael Shoaf, Anna Kate Shoaf, Allee Shoaf; her sister, Sandra Taylor; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Sunday, June 5, 2022 at Lakewood Baptist Church. Private interment will be in Alta Vista Cemetery, prior to the service. The family will receive friends at the church from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm Sunday June 5, 2022 prior to the service. Dr. Tom Smiley, Dr. Tyler Smiley and Reverend Don Ormsbee will officiate.
