Mr. Robert Lee Westmoreland, age 73 of Esthahoe Circle, Toccoa passed away Friday, May 21, 2022 at his residence.
A son of the late Aaron and Marie Price Westmoreland, he was born November 9, 1948 in Habersham County, Georgia having lived most of his life in Stephens County. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War. He owned and operated the Dairy Queen in Toccoa and Hartwell for many years. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church, Grove Masonic Lodge #309, the V.F.W. Post 4346 and the Toccoa Elks Lodge. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife of the home, Patricia Ortel Westmoreland; daughter, Mary Ann Butler of Roswell, Georgia; son and daughter-in-law, Bryan and Lori Westmoreland of Toccoa; grandchildren, Sadie, Winter Rose and Jet.
Memorial services will be Sunday, June 5, 2022, 3 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Fred Lodge officiating. Military Honors will be by the U.S. Army Honor Guard.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday from 2 p.m. until the service time. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com. A reception will follow the service at the Toccoa Elks Lodge.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Elks Aidmore Children’s Home, 2394 Morrison Road, Conyers, Georgia 30094 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Memorial and Honor Program, P.O. box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, Tennessee 38105 in memory of Mr. Robert Lee Westmoreland.
Private burial will be at a later date at Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery in Cleveland, Georgia.
