Joan Brenda Allen White

 Joan Brenda Allen White, age 79, of Cornelia, passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022. 

Born on November 15, 1942, in Demorest, she was a daughter of the late Cecil Allen and Carrie Sybel Irvin Allen. Joan managed textile mills for Outerwear, Academy Garment Company and Gillsville Manufacturing and later retired as a bookkeeper for Yearwood Logging.  In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her family, gardening, singing, playing the guitar, cooking, and reading.  She was a member of Victory Baptist Church.  

In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by sister, Ruthie Allen Irvin. 

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Danette White Canfield (Scott) of Lavonia, and Andrea White Irvin (Drew) of Baldwin; grandchildren, Kayla Leverette (Brandon), Meagan Lovell, Abby Irvin, Maggie Irvin, and Jack Irvin; great grandchildren, Evan Leverette and Bryan Leverette; brother and sister-in-law, Keith Allen (Teresa) of Mt. Airy; sister and brother-in-law, Jo Beth McConnell (William) of Clarkesville; brother-in-law, Bobby Irvin of Baldwin; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. 

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, May 25, 2022, in the Chapel of McGahee-Griffin and Stewart with Rev. Dennis Dills officiating. Interment will follow in Victory Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Shane Jenkins officiating.  

The family will receive friends from 6 – 8 pm on Tuesday, May 24, 2022, at the funeral home.
