Dessie Evans Westbrook, 89, of Dawsonville passed away Sunday May 22, 2022 at her residence following a period of declining health.
Born September 19, 1932 to the late Rufus and Gretell Evans, she lived most of her life in Dawson County. A homemaker at her death, she was a founding member of the McDonald’s Coffee Club where they enjoyed listening to the music. She loved attending church and was very devoted to her family. A member of Lebanon Baptist Church, she was also preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Rev. Lee Westbrook; sister, Melba Cain; brothers, J. L. Evans, Ansel Evans, Gene Evans, Marvin Evans, Elmer Evans, Jess Evans; and son in law, Alan Dameron.
Surviving are her children, Gwen Dameron, Dawsonville, Sherry Westbrook, Kennesaw, Annette Jones, Dawsonville, Brian and Karen Westbrook, Dawsonville, Shannon and Kaycee Westbrook, Cumming; grandchildren, Kelly and Tim Johnson, Woody Dameron, Amy and Thomas Pitts, Kay and Brandon Payne, Skyler Jones, Dessica and Daniel Prichett, Katelyn and Tyler Goodwin, Riley and Mikayla Westbrook; 20 great grandchildren; sisters and brother in law, Flonnie Westbrook, Marietta, Annelle and Jerry Self, Holly Springs; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at 2 o’clock at Lebanon Baptist Church. Rev. Kenny Sutton, Rev. Sam Rickett, and Brother Danny Cain will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 4 until 8 and Wednesday from 11 until 1 at the funeral home.
