David Roy Chastain Jr.

David Roy Chastain, Jr. age 64, of Mountain Rest, South Carolina, formerly of Helen, Georgia, passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022.

Mr. Chastain was born on January 6, 1958, in Demorest, Georgia, to the late David Roy Chastain, Sr. and Myrtle Alston Chastain.  He was a retired carpenter and attended Stump House Mountain Church of God.

Survivors include his mother, Myrtle Chastain, Helen; sister and brother-in-law, Julie and Stanley Etris, Helen; nieces, Jessica Etris and Nikki Webb; 3 great-nephews and 1 great-niece also survive.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 27, 2022, at The Chapel of Barrett Funeral Home.  The Rev. Allen Webb and the Rev. Roger Abernathy will officiate.  Interment will follow in Yonah View Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 noon until 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home.
