Mrs. Sue Cantrell O'Hanlon, age 87, of Dahlonega, Georgia passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, following a brief illness. She was born on December 11, 1934, in Dahlonega to the late George Cantrell and the late Dora Mae Gilleand Cantrell.
Sue was a lifelong resident of Dahlonega and was a member of the Dahlonega Church of God. She was known by many in the community as "Aunt Sue." She will forever be remembered as a great mother, a strong woman who loved God and her family more than anything on this earth. She was a hard worker and a military wife for many years. She retired from Tysons and then began keeping children, sharing her love and home with them, and providing childcare for their parents. These children will forever fondly remember her as "Nany Sue."
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Mickael O'Hanlon and 7 siblings.
She is survived by her children, Becky (Scott) Brown of Dahlonega, Rick (Begum) Burns of Cumming, Frank (Cori) Burns of Utah, and Michelle (Troy) Evans of Montana; brother Hoyt Cantrell; 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and other relatives also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 18, 2022, at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Anderson-Underwood Funeral Home, with the Rev. Scott Brown officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until the service hour. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer's Research.
