Memorial Park Riverside Chapel announces the death of Louise Loggins Johnson, age 89, of Gainesville, who passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022.

Mrs. Johnson was born in Gainesville, GA on June 7, 1932, a daughter to the late Henry and Aline Stephens Loggings. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Loggins was preceded in death by her sister, Millie Dye.

Survivors include her daughters, Lynn Hagihara of Sicily, Italy, Miriam Veal and her husband Tom of Gainesville; grandson, Andrew Veal and his wife Kristin of Gainesville; great grandsons, Andy Veal and his wife Ashly and Matthew Veal; sister, Irma Loggins of Gainesville, brother, Henry Loggins and his wife Beverly of Gainesville; brother-in-law, Ron Dye of Tampa, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Johnson was a 1952 graduate of Truett McConnell College, and later earned three degrees from the University of Georgia. Her endless love of education began at age 19 when she became a teacher at the former Corinth School. She worked with the Hall County Board of Education for 33 years, all at Lanier Elementary School, where she held the position of librarian for most of her career. After retiring she returned to work an additional 18 years at the Hall County Library system. Mrs. Johnson was a life-long dedicated and devoted member of Corinth Baptist Church where she served as organist for decades. She was a Sunday School teacher for approximate 66 years, handing over the position to the next generation in her mid-eighties. She was a church and family matriarch who touched the lives of hundreds with her quiet humility and dignity. Louise indeed loved God, loved people and helped spread the gospel throughout her lifetime.          A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, July 7 2022 at 2:00 PM at Corinth Baptist Church with Rev. Adam Smith officiating. The family will receive friends in the church for one hour before the service.
