Jerry Wayne Brady

Obituary Date: Saturday, May 7, 2022

Jerry Wayne Brady, age 60, of Cleveland, GA flew away to heaven on Saturday, May 7, 2022.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert Candler Brady and Mary Fae Jones Brady and niece, Shannon Kilgo. 

Jerry grew up in Hall County, graduated from North Hall High School and attended North Georgia College (University of North GA). After serving in the Air Force as a Mobile Air Control Technician, he joined the Air Force Band. His passion for drumming led to his accomplishment winning the 1985 Worldwide Air Force Talent Contest. The prize was the opportunity to participate in Tops in Blue, a musical group that toured and played at every Air Force Base outside the lower 48. After his military service, Jerry returned to GA and began working for Bellsouth, where he worked for nearly 20 years. He became Network Manager for the eastern half of Georgia. He also enjoyed drumming with various groups, including The Highlands UMC, Center UMC, and Gainesville FUMC Believers' Band until his death.

Left to mourn him are his wife, Suzanne Lanier Brady, and their 3 children, daughter Meredith Brady of Lawrenceville, GA, son and daughter-in-law Quentin and Jessica Boss Brady of Gainesville, GA, and daughter Caroline Brady of Big Sky, MT and his grandson, Jackson Norwood of Gainesville, GA. He has 2 siblings, sister and brother-in-law Judy Ellis Adams and Norman Adams of Dahlonega, GA, and sister Joan Brady Parker of Murrayville, GA, along with brother-in-law and sister-in-law Tyre and Cheryl Inglett Lanier of Wilkesboro, NC and sister-in-law Nancy Lanier Fowler of Gainesville, GA. He is also survived by 18 nieces and nephews, and a great number of cousins and friends. 

A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 11 at 11:30 a.m. at Memorial Park North Chapel in Gainesville. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
