Loyd Milford Willis

Mr. Loyd Milford Willis, age 86 of Clarkesville, Georgia and formerly of Stephens County passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2022 at Habersham Home East.
 
A son of the late William Francis Willis and Katie Durham Willis, he was born August 31, 1935 in Franklin County, Georgia having lived in Hartwell, Georgia and Augusta, Georgia and most of his life in Stephens County.  He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.  He was employed as a Supervisor with Robertson Furniture Company for a number of years before his retirement.  He was an avid sport fan, loved the Georgia Bulldogs and was a member of Tates Creek Baptist Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Justus Willis, daughter, Helen Gay Thompson, son, Wade Swift and siblings, Mozelle Gayhart, Estelle Crunkleton, Lois Gayhart, Marvin Willis and W.C. Willis.
 
Survivors include his grandchildren, Dayaneva Thompson, Karinzia Smith (Josh Palmer), Stephine Murray all of Toccoa; great-grandchildren, Zoe Jane Smith, Christopher Thompson and Calin Murray; brother, Ray Willis of Toccoa; sister, Lorene Rider; a number of nieces and nephews. 
 
Memorial services will be Saturday, May 7, 2022, 2 o’clock p.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with The Reverend Jerrell Beatty officiating. 
 
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Saturday, May 7 from 1 p.m. until the service time.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
 
Inurnment will follow in the Old Toccoa Baptist Church Cemetery with Military Honors.
