William Henry Hughey, III “Elmo” age 70 of Commerce, GA passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2022.
Born on Nov. 6, 1951 in Tampa, Fla., Mr. Hughey was the son of Jean Ann Luther Hughey and the late William Henry Hughey, Jr. He was a retired police officer with Gwinnett County Police Department; he also worked with Banks and Jackson County Police Departments; was of the Baptist faith; and was a member of Iron Pig Motorcycle Club and AA.
Survivors in addition to his mother include the love of his life, Lynda Nichols; sons, Billy (Emily) Sharp, David (Tara) Hughey; daughters, Amanda Hughey, Amy (Josh) Poe, Leigh (Adan) Diaz; sister, Julia Ann (Paul) Yakoboski; and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 2 pm Monday, April 25, 2022 at Ivie Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Ross Wheeler officiating. Burial will follow in Grey Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4-7 pm Sunday evening at the funeral home.
