Mrs. Mary Lou McGahagin, age 88, of Gainesville passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Northeast Georgia Medical Center – Gainesville, surrounded by her family.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2022 at Andersonville National Cemetery. Rev. Rick Taylor will officiate.
Mrs. McGahagin was born September 29, 1933 to the late D.A. Ward & Althea Cook Ward Locke in Birmingham, Alabama. Known as “Mama Lou”, she was a member of New Holland Baptist Church and loved telling stories.
Mrs. McGahagin is survived by her sons, James McGahagin and Jerry McGahagin; daughters, Maizie Kelly and Emma Powell; 10 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and sister, Janis Sullivan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joshua L. McGahagin, Jr.
