Geza “Gus” Laszlo Jozan

Obituary Date: Friday, April 8, 2022

Geza “Gus” Laszlo Jozan, age 64, of Dawsonville went to be with Jesus on April 8, 2022. He was born on September 23, 1957 in Trenton, NJ to the late Laszlo and Jolan Jozan.

Gus retired and moved to Lumpkin County after 40 plus years of serving his community as an HVAC tech and handyman. He was known for his many talents. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t build or fix. He was the man you called when something broke. He loved working with his hands and he loved helping when his customers and friends called. One of his biggest passions included wood working. Once retired, he was able to pursue that passion in his basement. He custom built two kitchens, numerous furniture pieces, picture frames, vent hoods, fireplace mantles, wood walls, and shelves. His family kept him busy with their requests.

Gus was a loving family man and was married to the love of his life, Jackie Jozan, for 38 years. He had three children and six grandchildren. When he wasn’t wood working, he spent his time with his family and grandchildren. He loved when his family would visit, sit with him in his basement, conversation or not. He loved watching the grandchildren play and seeing his family happy. Gus was a simple man who was happy with having Jesus, his family, and something to work on. He was a believer, husband, father, paw paw, brother, uncle, and a friend to many. He was honest, hard-working, loving, caring, silly and always wore a smile.

Gus is survived by his Wife Jackie Jozan of Dawsonville, Ga; children, Joey (Melissa) Smith of Fayetteville, GA, April (Chris) Evans of Dawsonville, GA and Matthew (Amy) Jozan of Billerica, MA; grandchildren, Aiden and Hudson Smith, Lucas and Betty Evans, Parker and Finn Jozan; brothers, Ernie (Shelia) Greck of Hawley, PA, George (Trisha) Jozan of Thornwood, NY and Mickey (Cris) Jozan of Carmel, NY; niece, Julianna Jozan of Thornwood, NY and many nieces and nephews of GA.

A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 PM on Monday, April 18, 2022 with Matthew Jozan officiating and military honors being presented. The family will receive friends from 11:30 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Gus to The Cerebral Palsy Foundation, The Shriners, or a cancer foundation / veterans foundation of your choosing.
