Mr. David “Scott” “Pa” Strickland, 82, of Gainesville, GA passed away peacefully in his home and surrounded by family on April 12, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Louie and Lera Strickland.
He leaves behind his loving wife of 44 years, Linda Strickland.; two sisters, Gloria (& husband Glenn) Davidson, and Linda (& husband Joe) Seago; one brother, Bradley Strickland; four children, 3 daughters, Cindy Thompson, , Cathy White, Stacey Manning, and one son, Kelly Strickland. One Stepdaughter, Tina Cannon. Sons-in-law and daughter-in-law. Nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Scott enjoyed fishing, deer hunting, and family gatherings. He worked in production management for many years and served in the Army National Guard. After retirement, Scott spent much of his time with woodworking and making furniture for his home, his children, and friends.
The family would like to extend special gratitude to the incredible healthcare team at Affinis Hospice for their care over the past two years. And a special thank you to his nurse, Laura Bray.
A private viewing will be held for the family and an open graveside service will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery on Tuesday, April 19, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. Chaplain Lane Stephenson and Rev. Randy Strickland will officiate the service.
