Mrs. Shirley Jean Cheek Harris, age 78 of Pressley Road, Eastanollee passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022 at her residence.
A daughter of the late Richard Cheek and Azaree Merck Cheek, she was born February 1, 1944 in Stephens County, Georgia where she lived all her life. She was employed with Master’s Furniture for a number of years and later as a caretaker with Georgia Mountains Group Home. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Arnold Eugene Harris in 2014 and by two sisters, Brenda Crowe and Tammy Ramey.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Karen and Roger Powell of Eastanollee; two sons, Terry Harris, Sr. and Tony Harris both of Toccoa; grandchildren, Dustin and Whitney Powell, Kevin and Megan Powell, Terry Harris and Amy, Ben Harris, Shelby Harris; great-grandchildren, Landon, Mason, Madelyn and Brynlee Harris and Everly, Drake and Nolan Powell; brother, Ricky Cheek of Toccoa; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty Collins, Doris and David James, Teresa and Donnie Smith, Vickie and Ricky Elliott and Charlene and David Smith all of Toccoa; a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be Thursday, April 7, 2022, 11 o’clock a.m. at the Stephens Memorial Gardens with The Reverend Ray Bohannon officiating. The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Dusty Powell, Kevin Powell, Terry Harris, Roger Powell, Donnie Smith, Ricky Cheek and Ben Harris.
The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.
Interment will follow in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with the Acree-Davis Funeral Home and Crematory in charge of the arrangements for Mrs. Shirley Jean Cheek Harris.
