Bobby Joe Reed

Bobby Joe Reed, 88, of Cumming passed away Sunday, April 3, 2022. Bob was born November 28, 1933 to the late Robert and Ruie Ealey Reed. In addition to his parents Bob is preceded in death by sisters, Wilma Wheeler of Baltimore, MD and Billie Fairchild of Paintsville, KY.

Bob served in the United States Army from 1959 too 1962. He worked for Western Electric in Baltimore and transferred to Georgia in 1981 which was then purchased by AT&T. He retired from AT&T in 1991 with 37 years of service. Bob moved to Cumming in 1985 where he has lived for 37 years. He was a skilled craftsman, loving neighbor and a kind and gentle man that everyone loved.

Bob is survived by his wife, Lillie May (Day) Reed; daughter and son-in-law, Alice and Greg Groves of York, PA; sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Debbie Reed of York PA, Danny and Linda Reed Of York, PA, Bobby and Lucy Reed of Harrisburg, PA, Arnold and Carol Reed of York, PA; sister and brother-in-law, Janice and Harold Johns of Capon Bridge, WV; 14 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; stepdaughters, Janice Grimes of Cumming, Debbie and Ronald Seekins of Morrilton, AR. A number of nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 6, at 3:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Terry Cowart officiating. Entombment will follow at the Sawnee View Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 12:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
