Randy Gober Allen, 57, of Gainesville, Georgia and formerly of Dawsonville, Georgia passed away suddenly on Tuesday March 29, 2022. He led a life filled with adventure and his passion for living life to its fullest could only be matched by the undying devotion that he had for his family. He and his wife Susan had been married 32 years but had shared 35 years together.
Randy was born on June 12, 1964 to the late Benny and Betty Gober Allen. The majority of Randy’s life was spent living on and operating the family farm, known to all the locals as Gober Hill. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Dawsonville. His entrepreneur spirit led him to additional business ventures in lawn maintenance, property management, insurance adjusting and owning and operating a business that helped showcase his passions for running and coaching athletes. His most admirable quality was his “I’ve never met a stranger personality” and his ability to bring people together. Randy believed that it was his mission to encourage people to dream big and he made them believe that if they put in the hard work that anything was possible. He was ever the adrenaline junkie. Randy’s adventurous spirit included mountain climbing, where he summited several of Colorado’s fourteeners. An accomplished athlete, he was a Double Ironman Triathlon finisher, Ironman finisher, as well as numerous half Ironman finishes, Marathons and Ultras. It had been a lifelong dream of his to go to Scotland. He was most excited to have been chosen to participate in the prestigious Celtman! Extreme Triathlon in Scotland. Randy had dedicated countless hours training in preparation for the event that was to take place this June.
