Laura Mae Burt, 83, of Dawsonville passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at her residence.
Born August 15, 1938 to the late Andrew and Audie Harben (Regan), she was a lifelong resident of Dawson County. Laura Mae retired as a Media Clerk for the Dawson County School System following over 25 years of service. She was a member of Juno Baptist Church which she attended since birth and was very dear to her heart. A loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, her biggest accomplishment was her family of whom she was extremely proud and through which her loving legacy lives on. She enjoyed yardwork, reading, sewing, and cooking. Laura Mae was also preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Winford E. “Biscuit” Burt; grandson, Jeremy Keasler; and stepfather, Fred Regan.
Surviving are her children, Elizabeth and Jerry Keasler, Eugene and Jennifer Burt, Everett and Sonya Burt, all of Dawsonville; grandchildren, Tiffany and Bryan Young, Natalie Burt and her fiancé Jonathan Ingram, Andrew Burt, Logan and Rachael Burt, Carley and Logan Brumbelow, Lisa Keasler; great grandchildren, Leah Keasler, Kristen Keasler, Harrison Keasler, Emily Young, Nathaniel Young; sister and brother in law, Mahala and Clayton Vaughters, Dawsonville; brother and sister in law, Jimmie and Bessie Harben, Dawsonville; sister in law, Lynn Burt, Dacula; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 3, 2022 at 2 o’clock at Juno Baptist Church. Rev. Brody Hughes, Rev. Russell Burt, Rev. Dennis Bottoms, and Rev. Tommy Weldy will officiate. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends Saturday from 6 until 8 at the funeral home.
