Fred Alton Adams

Mr. Fred Alton Adams, age 85 of Mize Road, Toccoa passed away Tuesday, March 29, 2022 at the Stephens County Hospital.

A son of Thomas Cliff Adams and Sarah Head Adams, he was born June 11, 1936 in Hart County, Georgia having lived in Stephens County, Georgia most of his life.  He was a 20 year retired Veteran of the U.S. Air Force having served during Vietnam.  He was a member of Tom’s Creek Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Susan Adams and by a number of siblings.

Survivors include two daughters and son-in-law, Patsy and Ricky Skelton of Demorest, Georgia and Mary Adams of Toccoa; three sons and daughters-in-law, Willie and Kattie Adams, Ricky Adams and Melinda and Cliff Adams and Brittany all of Toccoa; seventeen grandchildren and twenty great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard and Judy Adams of Eastanollee, Georgia and Gene and Betty Adams of Toccoa; sister and brother-in-law, Martha and Terry Fowler of Carnesville, Georgia; sisters-in-law, Teresa Adams of Fair Play, South Carolina and Hazel Adams of Martin, Georgia.

Funeral services will be Monday, April 4, 2022, 11 o’clock a.m. in the Hillcrest Chapel of the Acree-Davis Funeral Home with Pastor Chad Smith officiating.  The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers, Matt Adams, William Adams, Brady Adams, Chris Adams, Ben Alvarado, Bryan Skelton, Joseph Adams and Jacob Segars.

The family will receive friends at the Acree-Davis Funeral Home on Sunday, 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Online condolences may be left for the family at www.acree-davisfh.com.

Flowers are optional.  Memorials may be made to Toccoa Life Family Resource Center, 4444 Highway 17, Eastanollee, Georgia 30538 in memory of Mr. Fred Alton Adams.

Interment will be in the Stephens Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by the U.S. Air Force Honor Guard, Mr. William Tucker and the V.F.W. Post 4346 Honor Guard.
