Minta Louise "Kitty" Johnson

Obituary Date: Friday, March 25, 2022

Mrs. Minta Louise “Kitty” Johnson (82), of Murrayville, Georgia passed away Friday, March 25 from an extended illness surrounded by her loving family.

Kitty was a very kind, compassionate, and genuine person who loved with her whole heart. She always welcomed anyone she met with open arms, often inviting them to family gatherings, including holidays where she made sure she had a gift waiting for them. Kitty held many titles; wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. Beyond that, she was the glue that bonded us all together. Never picking favorites, never choosing sides, but always willing to lend an ear.

Born in Valdosta, Georgia on December 7, 1939 to Russell and Elizabeth Bridges, Kitty was the eldest of 5 children. She was given the nickname “Kitty” at birth by her paternal grandfather, Leroy Bridges. Although, no one ever quite knew why.

Kitty married the love of her life, Bob Johnson, on November 26, 1977. The love between Bob and Kitty is infectious, undeniable, and unwavering. Even until her last moments, Bob made sure she was well cared for, loved, and treated with the upmost respect.

Kitty was a faithful Christian woman who loved the Lord. She Carried herself with class, grace, and dignity.

Survivors include her husband, Bob Johnson; children, Angie (Rick), Carol (Larry), John (Tracy); Grandchildren, Jesse, Amanda (Rainey), Teisha(Raoul), Bobby (Janneth), Marybeth (Shane), Majenta(Michael), Katelynn, and Kristina; Great Grandchildren, Gaia, Phoenix, Luke, Grayson, Kayden, Kennedy, Braelyn, Bailey, Camrynn, and Deklyn; siblings, Carol, Tommy (Patsy), Kay (John) and Steve (Anne). As well as a host of extended family.

We take comfort in knowing that Kitty is now at peace and is surrounded by those who preceded her; Father and Mother, Russell and Elizabeth Bridges; son, Chris Dutton.

Funeral services will be held Saturday April 2, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Little & Davenport Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at the Alta Vista Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Friday April 1, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
