Mrs. Paula Heilig Campbell passed peacefully March 19, 2022 at her home surrounded by family. She was 79 years old.
Paula was born December 19, 1942 at Mercy Hospital in Buffalo, Néw York and was the daughter of Paul and Marie Heilig. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers, Joseph and John Heilig. She is survived by her husband, Robert Campbell; children, Robert ‘Bobby’ Campbell (spouse Elizabeth), Paul Campbell (spouse Angela) and Kimberlee Campbell Handl (spouse Tracy).
After moving from Buffalo to Fairless Hills Pennsylvania, Paula graduated from Bishop Egan High School. She married Robert “Buzz” Campbell and started a family. She remained in Fairless Hills until 1988 when she moved to Gainesville, Georgia. She remained in Georgia until her passing.
Paula was a devout Catholic and a member of St. Francis Cabrini in Fairless Hills and St. Michael the Archangel in Gainesville, Georgia.
Paula was employed at Sears Roebuck in Gainesville in the Furniture and Appliance Departments and retired in 2002. She was a valued member of the staff and consistently received awards for strong sales and her outstanding customer service.
She was a devoted grandmother to Joshua, Shelby, Sarah and Steven. Paula was a baby-lover and her grandchildren gave her so much joy.
Paula was a camping enthusiast for many, many years. She loved the beach and watching the waves. Her final vacations were to Florida beaches with family. In spite of the dementia that had set-in, those trips and the memories were firmly set in her brain all the way to the end.
In her final days, Paula dealt with congestive heart disease and kidney failure. The family cannot begin to thank our extended family for their care and concern during her final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family would suggest donations to Hospice of Northeast Georgia Medical Center. Their care and assistance for the last several months has been invaluable. It is with their assistance that we were able to continue to care for Mom and ensure she had no pain and passed peacefully at home.
A crypt-side service and inurnment will be announced in the next few weeks at Memorial Park South Cemetery in Flowery Branch, Georgia.
Memorial Park South Funeral Home, 4121 Falcon Parkway, Flowery Branch, Georgia 30542 is in charge of arrangements. Send on-line condolences to www.memorialparkfuneralhomes.com.
