Gordon B. “Bill” Taffar, 89, formerly of Dawsonville, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2022.
Mr. Taffar was born April 8, 1932 to the late William and Aline Taffar. He was a retired insurance agent and worked several years with American General and Interstate Insurance Company. Billy was a U. S. Army veteran and enjoyed attending Camp Meeting and spending time with his family and friends. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Dottie Taffar; stepsons, Ricky Pope, Doug Pope, Jr.; and brothers, Roger Taffar and Jerel Taffar.
Surviving are his daughter and son in law, April and Mike Mangum, Cleveland; grandchildren, Ashley and Jonathan Poss, Brandon and Alyssa Mangum, Bryan Pope, Wendy Collier, Jeanne Pope Smith, Shannan Pope, Amy Parker, Kevin Pope; four great grandchildren; brothers and sister in law, Jimmy Taffar, Houshton, Larry and Louise Taffar, Dawsonville; sisters in law, Oundrae Taffar, Dawsonville, Claudia Taffar, Gainesville; and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at 2 o’clock at Bearden Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Randy Richards and Rev. Don Westray will officiate.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 2, 2022 beginning at 1 o’clock.
