Martha Edna Gibson

Martha Edna Gibson, age 91 of Gainesville, Georgia went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 13, 2022.

Mrs. Gibson was born August 1, 1930 in Madisonville, Tennessee to the late Riley and Elsie Watson.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of forty-four years Ross Gibson, their son Randall Gibson Sr., sisters, Beatrice, Nella, Gladys, Viola and Hilda, brothers, Paul, Edgar, Jay, Clinton and Eugene. 

Mrs. Gibson, lovingly called Mam-ma, was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. Her greatest joy in life was caring for her family. She was a gifted seamstress and cook and enjoyed working in her yard.

She is survived by her children, Nadine and Ron Pearce of Canton, Teresa and Jim Kinsey of Gainesville, Rita Cook Gibson of Flowery Branch and Dahlene and Alan Yates of Jefferson; grandchildren, Allison Pearce, Jennifer (Matthew) Martin, Renee (Jeff) Jerome, Ranita (Billy) Christopher, Ramona (Eddie) Slaughter, Randall Jr (Emily) Gibson, Russell Gibson, Matthew (Catherine) Yates, Jonathan (Jennifer) Yates and Zachary Yates; great-grandchildren, Bethany, Joseph, Daniel, Serenity, Annabelle, Thomas, Aireann, Carlee, Jolene, John Pearce, Walker, Ellie, Noah, Arthur, Benjamin, Bowen, Camden and Lily.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 16, 2022 in the chapel of Memorial Park South Funeral Home in Flowery Branch. Burial will follow the service in Sugar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Gainesville. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 15, 2022.
