Sharon (Shari) Brain Nunez, age 57, of Cumming, GA joined the other angels in Heaven on March 12, 2022 with her beloved husband Charlie, of 17 1/2 years, by her side. Shari was born on April 18, 1964 in Santa Monica, CA to David and Sandra Keppler Brain.
Shari attended Marist High School in Atlanta, GA. and went on to attend EMT and Paramedic school at Lanier Tech. Shari worked for Grady EMS for years and received many accommodations. In addition, Shari and Charlie co-founded the Food for Thought Project, Inc. a local non-profit which is still thriving today.
Shari was preceded in death by her father – David Brain.
In addition to her husband Charlie, Shari is also survived by her Mother- Sandy Brain, brother – Marshall Brain, 5 children, 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her children are Ashley Carter (Chad), Geoff (Jessica) Nunez, Corey (Melanie) Nunez, Courtney Tarr (Dave)and Chase Nunez.
Shari had many talents and interests. Her superpower was loving people and animals. She was a Court Appointed Special Advocate for abused and neglected children in Forsyth County for years which led to her and Charlie becoming foster parents. They loved their foster children like their own. She enjoyed raising chickens, alpacas and had numerous cats and dogs that she loved.
Shari is also survived by her “bee squad”- an eclectic group of ladies that she befriended and poured out love on through the years. They have grown to be an extended part of her family.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Children’s hospital in honor of Shari.
A celebration of Shari’s life will occur on Saturday March 19th, 1pm at Ingram’s Funeral Home in Cumming, GA. The doors will open at 12:30.
