Morgan "Butch" Benson

Morgan “Butch” Benson, age 78, of Duluth, GA passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022.  He was preceded in death by his parents Morgan Handsel Benson, Sr. and Alice Sammons Benson; sister-in-law, Donna Benson.  He is survived by his wife of fifty-nine years, Linda Davis Benson of Duluth, GA; children, Kecia and David Rockwell of Savannah, GA, Stacy and Eric Damm of Peachtree Corners Circle, GA; four grandchildren, Jake Rockwell, Peyton Rockwell, Morgan Damm, Tanner Damm; brothers, Nelson Benson of Gattis, GA, Jimmy Benson of Lilburn, GA; sister, Gay and Curt Baity of Yadkinville, NC; brother-in-law, Jerry Davis of Covington, GA; and several nieces and nephews.  Mr. Benson was born on September 2, 1943 in Miami, FL.  He was a 1963 graduate of Gordon Military School and attended Gordon Military College in Barnesville, GA.  He was a retired Transportation Manager from John Deere Company in Conyers, GA after thirty-three years of service.  Mr. Benson attended Duluth United Methodist Church.  He was an avid golfer, loved biking and tennis, and was also an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.  He adored his family and his grandchildren very much and loved traveling with them. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 12, 2022 in the Chapel of Flanigan Funeral Home, Buford, GA, with Rev. David Benson officiating.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, March 11 at the funeral home.
