Pamela Jean Lewis, 68 of Acworth, died Saturday March 5, 2022. Pam was born on July 11, 1953, in Gainesville, to Robert Joseph and Jean Stringer Lewis Priest.
She was preceded in death by her father Robert Joseph Lewis, sister Angela Kim Lewis, grandparents Ottie Olen and Pauline Caldwell Stringer and Glenn Henry and Beulah Thomas Lewis.
Pam is survived by her daughter Jessica Marie Gottler Prewitt and son-in-law Zachary Joseph Prewitt, grandchildren; Peyton Lytle Gottler and Liam Sutton Prewitt, mother: Jean Stringer Lewis Priest and sisters; Karen Leah Lewis and Cathy Jo Lewis.
As a follower of Jesus since the age of 9, she especially loved her years at First Baptist Church Gainesville with Dr. Perry Ginn Pastor, and Music Director William E. Parrish, where she was active in choir and Girls Auxiliary.
Pam was bright, independent, and resourceful and during her senior year at Gainesville High School; she was voted a class beauty. She had a summer job at Hall County Hospital as a candy striper in the nursery.
She studied music in Marietta and excelled in piano and a favorite memory is her playing carol after carol at Christmas with her family gathered around her singing. She taught piano at an Atlanta Montessori school.
She was a model, body builder, and aerobics instructor. She attended Cosmetology school, was a makeup artist for Estée Lauder and traveled with Oscar De La Renta. She loved animals including her beloved poodles and adopted dogs and worked as a dog groomer. She was a Real Estate and Mortgage Broker.
As a mother to her daughter Jessica, Pam was completely involved in serving as grade mother at Jessica’s school, Girl Scout’s mother, and having numerous parties for Jessica and her friends. She and Jessica were very close and loved to watch movies together and buy the same clothing, accessories, purses, and makeup. She loved hosting dinner parties for friends in her home.
She was a dedicated grandmother and called ‘Coco’ by her grandson Peyton with whom she had a special bond. They had many wonderful vacations together. She loved her new grandson, Liam, and helped care for him in the Prewitt home. She was loved and adored by her family and will be forever missed.
The family will receive friends on Thursday March 10, from 2- 4 p.m., at Little & Davenport Funeral Home, with Funeral Services to follow in the Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Bruce Fields officiating. Interment will follow at Alta Vista Cemetery.
